Jatahj Malik Malcom, the suspect charged in connection with the May 5 shooting at 708 Bar and Grille, turned himself into the Huntsville Police Department Violent Crimes Unit on Thursday. Malcom, 25, was wanted on five first-degree assault warrants related to the incident.
The shooting occurred on Sunday, May 5, around 11:30 p.m. at 708 Poplar Ave. Huntsville Police responded to the scene following reports of gunfire. Officers found five individuals with gunshot wounds. During the investigation, it was discovered an altercation had taken place between the suspect and one of the victims. The suspect, identified as Malcom, reportedly pulled a handgun and fired multiple rounds, striking the initial victim and four other patrons inside the club.

All five victims who were transported to the hospital were treated for their injuries and have now been released.
