A Madison County bus driver is off their route after the bus carrying students ran off the road in the Owens Cross Roads community on Monday. The incident occurred on Cave Spring Road while transporting 21 students from Owens Cross Roads School and New Hope Elementary School.

Details of the Incident

According to a Madison County Schools spokesperson, the bus “briefly deviated from the roadway” and swiftly returned to its intended path, causing some students to leave their seats. Following the incident, MCSS nursing staff and HEMSI assessed the students, and parents were promptly notified.

Two students were transported to an area hospital by their parent or guardian for further evaluation, while another student was taken to a personal medical doctor for a check-up.
