HAZEL GREEN, Ala. – A significant power outage struck the Hazel Green area recently, affecting approximately 2,600 customers at its peak. Huntsville Utilities quickly mobilized their electric operations crews to address the issue and restore power to residents.
As of 8:50 PM on Friday, Huntsville Utilities reported a noticeable decline in affected customers, with 790 individual households still without power. The utility company indicated that the customers in need of assistance are concentrated in the area stretching from Charity Lane to Bolden Hughey Road.
Preliminary assessments suggest the outage was likely triggered by severe weather conditions, causing multiple power lines and poles to be knocked down. Huntsville Utilities crews are diligently working to make the necessary repairs and restore electricity to the remaining households.
