In an exciting development for the Huntsville community, plans have been unveiled for a new private K-12 Christian school. The Rock Family Worship Center has announced its intention to renovate the existing facilities of the former Butler High School, aiming to reestablish the site as a vibrant educational environment. The new school will be named Kingdom Heights Preparatory and is projected to open its doors by fall 2025.
The renovation of the Butler campus comes with a hefty price tag. The initial phase of the project is estimated to cost around $4.65 million and will encompass significant upgrades to athletic fields and playgrounds. Overall, The Rock’s website indicates that the total costs for establishing the school could reach approximately $17 million.
Kingdom Heights Preparatory is set to offer an accredited education that emphasizes advanced academics, innovative teaching methods, and a strong focus on experiential learning. The Rock Family Worship Center has been an influential part of the Huntsville community since its establishment in 1999 and has ventured into various initiatives beyond worship services. The church acquired the Butler High School building in 2019 and has used it as its Huntsville campus ever since.
As renovations begin, the community is eager to see how Kingdom Heights Preparatory will develop. With a focus on providing quality education and fostering student growth, this new school promises to be a valuable asset to the city of Huntsville.
