TRIANA, Ala. – Madison County deputies are still searching for a suspect after one person was shot in Triana on Tuesday. A neighbor heard several shots around 5 p.m. Tuesday, shortly after Madison County deputies rushed to the scene and began closing down the roads. Deputies and Huntsville and Triana police officers secured the area while they searched for a suspect.
Gale Tanner lives across the street in a nearby neighborhood. She says she heard gunshots while gardening in her backyard last night. “I hear bang bang one shot, then a pause, bang bang bang,” said Turner. “I thought someone was going to get hurt because I knew those were gunshots and I needed to stay back on the porch and not go out in the yard.” She added that this was not the first time she had seen crime in the area, but it was the first time something this big had occurred. “We want to stay so having a shooting across the street is a little disconcerting,” said Turner. “This isn’t the first time something has happened here but it’s the first really big thing.”
Neighbors in the Triana area are expressing concerns and hoping for increased safety measures following the incident. The shooting has left residents on edge, with many voicing worries about the frequency of such violent events in their community.
Authorities have been vigilant in their search for the suspect involved in the shooting. With the assistance of local law enforcement agencies, efforts are being made to ensure the safety of residents and bring the perpetrator to justice.
Residents are urged to remain cautious and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. As the investigation unfolds, the community is advised to stay informed and follow safety protocols to prevent any further incidents.
