Huntsville to Host Monte Sano Art Festival Featuring Local Artists and Musicians This Weekend

Huntsville Gears Up for a Weekend of Art and Music at Monte Sano Art Festival

Huntsville is buzzing with excitement as it prepares to host the annual Monte Sano Art Festival this weekend! Scheduled for September 21 and 22, this cherished event will take place amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Monte Sano State Park. Presented by Damson Automotive, the festival promises to be an unforgettable celebration of creativity, showcasing the remarkable talents of over 130 local and regional artists.

Artistry Under the Open Sky

Festival-goers can expect a dazzling array of artistic expressions, including everything from stunning jewelry and captivating sculptures to enchanting paintings and exquisite ceramics. This year, the festival continues its tradition as a juried showcase, ensuring that only the finest professionals are selected to display their works. Allison Dillon-Jauken, the Executive Director of Arts Huntsville, shared, “The Monte Sano Art Festival stands out as a unique opportunity for patrons to explore a vibrant array of art from local, regional, and national artists.”

Musical Delights Await

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the event is also celebrating September’s Music Month with 12 local musicians scheduled to perform across two stages, thanks to support from United Community Bank. Whether you’re into folk, rock, or opera, there’s something for everyone! A not-to-be-missed highlight will be a special performance by Opera Huntsville on Saturday at 4 p.m., promising a delightful treat for classical music enthusiasts.

Tasty Treats on the Menu

No festival is complete without delicious food, and the Monte Sano Art Festival is no exception! Attendees will have the chance to indulge in an array of offerings from local food trucks scattered throughout the park. Picture yourself enjoying a tasty bite while soaking in the art and music around you — it’s the perfect recipe for a fantastic day out!

Festival Hours and Entry Details

The festival will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 22. Best of all, this event is free of admission charges, making it accessible to all art lovers! However, do keep in mind that Monte Sano State Park will charge a small fee for parking, which is $10 per car or $5 per walk-in festival attendee — cash only, please. This nominal fee goes directly towards supporting the state parks system.

Support and Sponsors

This year’s festival wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of sponsors, including Torch Technologies, Legacy Health Chiropractic, Leaf Filter, and Renewal by Anderson. Their contributions help keep this beloved event vibrant and ensure that artists and attendees alike can experience everything it has to offer.
