Madison Visionary Partners (MVP) has generously allocated a total of $10,000 across five Community Impact Grants for the fiscal year 2024. Primarily focused on educational and health services, these grants will benefit Madison County residents and magnify the local community’s positive impact.
Madison Visionary Partners is a community organization known for its support of project-based initiatives within the City of Madison. The essence of these mini-grant cycles is to empower local organizations providing valuable services in the community. Melanie Thornton, the Executive Director of Madison Visionary Partners, expressed her excitement about the grant allocation. “These grants provide financial assistance to local groups working towards making Madison a great place to live, work, and play,” Thornton stated.
Fund allocation – $2,500. These funds will be used to create over 90 fidget blankets for Alzheimer’s patients at Madison Hospital as part of their Forget-Me-Not program focussing on individuals with Alzheimer’s. The therapeutic tool, called fidget blankets, are designed with different textures, colors, and interactive components to provide tactile and visual stimulation.
A reward of $2,000 has been granted to continue the Paws for a Purpose project, with the funding going towards an extra service animal. This initiative of Madison City Schools plans to introduce a facility dog in all the MCS schools to support and aid students.
A grant of $1,750 was presented to support a sensory story time for all children that encourages cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and creative skills through play and parental interaction.
The Fantasy Playhouse was granted $1,750 to enhance arts education at Madison City Schools. Summer camps with Fantasy Playhouse will culminate with full-scale theatrical productions.
A grant of $2,000 was allocated to Madison City Community Orchestra to aid their free community concert series in Madison. MCCO offers diverse, free programming that ranges from light, uplifting themes in summer to more formal concerts of classical masterpieces.
