Madison is buzzing with excitement as a beloved Christmas tradition makes a heartwarming return this year! On Sunday, December 8, Asbury Church will host its annual Lessons & Carols event, a festive musical celebration that promises to uplift the spirits of families and friends alike. This enchanting experience invites guests to embark on a journey through Scripture and song, exploring the promises that span from Creation to the glorious birth of Jesus.
A Musical Journey Through the Season
Something truly magical happens when music and scripture intertwine, and that’s precisely what you can expect at Lessons & Carols! This inspiring event features an array of Christmas songs, timeless readings, and captivating performances from talented musicians. The church’s orchestra, handbell choir, and enthusiastic adult, student, and kids choirs will blend their voices and instruments to create a musical feast that is sure to leave attendees feeling uplifted and filled with the spirit of the season.
There are two opportunities to enjoy this festive experience, with performances scheduled for 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.. There’s no charge to attend, making it an ideal event for families looking to embrace the holiday cheer without breaking the bank!

As we dive into the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. That’s why this year, Lori Bailey, the Director of Traditional Worship at Asbury Church, is extending a warm invitation to the community to pause and reflect. “At this time of year, many experience a combination of not only excitement but also a sense of overwhelm,” Bailey noted. “It’s our hope that families can take this time to reflect on the gifts of hope, peace, joy, and love that our Savior came to bring. Our time together will create space to rest and rejoice!”
Kid-Friendly Options Available
For those with little ones, Asbury Church has you covered! KidsCare will be available for children aged 3 and under, making it easier for parents to fully dive into the uplifting melodies and messages without worry.
More Advent Fun Awaits!
But wait, there’s more! Families are warmly invited to join in on Sunday worship services throughout the Advent season, as well as the popular Family Christmas Party on December 15. And for those who can’t get enough of the holiday festivities, Asbury Church will also be hosting 10 Christmas Eve services across three campuses in Madison, Harvest, and Huntsville on December 23 and December 24. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the season ahead with loved ones!
