Huntsville Welcomes Fall with Warm and Sunny Weather This Weekend

Huntsville Weather Update: A Warm Welcome to Fall!

If you’re in Huntsville, Alabama, get ready for some lovely weather as we roll into the weekend! An upper-level ridge of high pressure is on its way to our region, which means we can expect some warm and sunny days ahead. Sounds perfect for outdoor plans, right?

What’s in Store for the Weekend?

From Friday and throughout the weekend, we’re looking at temperatures climbing into the low 90s. Although it’s definitely going to feel a bit humid with the dew points staying around the mid-60s, these temperatures aren’t set to break any records. In fact, if temperatures hit the sizzling 100 degrees, we might just see a new record set; typically, the average high in Huntsville this time of year sits at a comfortable 86 degrees.

Say Hello to Fall, But Not Quite Yet

This Sunday marks the official start of fall, but the weather will tell a different story! Instead of cozy sweater weather and cool breezes, prepare for highs lingering in the mid-80s to low-90s. The normal high for this time of the year is about 86 degrees, but recent trends suggest we’ve seen more days warmer than usual in the past decade. In fact, the years when we saw below-average temperatures were just a few: 2014, 2020, and 2021. It seems like we have become quite accustomed to those warm splashes!

Why Is This Happening?

So what’s causing all of this lovely warm weather? The answer lies with the building upper-level ridge, which is essentially a large bubble of high pressure that moves in and influences local weather patterns. As it settles over our area, it helps to keep the clouds away and raises temperatures, creating that warm, sunny feel we all enjoy. However, be prepared for some humidity, as that moisture in the air will make it feel a bit muggy—common as we transition from summer to fall.

Weekend Plans? Here’s What to Expect!

As you make your weekend plans, whether it’s a picnic in the park, a walk through the city, or just lounging in your backyard, don’t forget to pack some water to stay hydrated! The warm, sunny days are inviting but can sneak up on you with that level of humidity. Just remember to take breaks in the shade when you can.

Stay Updated!

As the weekend approaches, it’s good to keep an eye on the changing weather conditions. Be sure to check for updates as meteorologists keep a close watch on any changes in the forecast. You wouldn’t want to get caught off guard during your outdoor fun!

Overall, this weekend promises to be bright and warm here in Huntsville. So grab your sunglasses, put on some sunscreen, and enjoy our last blast of summer heat before fall truly arrives. Remember to stay tuned for more weather updates as we continue to monitor how these patterns will unfold! Here’s to a fabulous weekend ahead!
