Graduate students shine in the 2024 UAH Graduate Poster Session

Huntsville – Graduate projects at the University of Alabama in Huntsville stand out at the annual Graduate Poster Session

Engaging the UAH Community through Innovative Research

The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) recently held its annual Graduate Poster Session at the Student Services Building on its campus. The competition was open to graduate students across the domains and saw an influx of participants from different fields of research and creative scholarship.

Talented Minds and Enlightening Presentations

Winning entries were adjudicated by faculty judges drawn from various UAH colleges such as Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, Education, Engineering, Nursing, and Science. The winners were those who were able to adeptly convert their current research into the most captivating presentations, garnishing cash prizes as their reward.

The event was hailed by Simone Frazier, the UAH graduate resource coordinator, as “a unique opportunity for our graduate students to interact with the broader UAH community, to share their research with both peers and faculty judges.” She further noted that the extremely collaborative nature of the event not only recognized the students’ diligent work but also provided a platform for them to refine their research communication skills.

Supporting Students Beyond the Classroom

Visitors to the event not only learned about ongoing graduate research but were also able to support the students by providing presenters with feedback and advice. The UAH Graduate School extends beyond the confines of the classroom, offering over 70 degree and certificate programs in areas ranging from Arts and Sciences to Engineering and Nursing.

Moreover, the Graduate School is dedicated to the professional development of its students, regularly organizing resource activities such as the Graduate Poster Session, Three-Minute Thesis Competition, Career Service Workshops, and more.
