Huntsville – The children are out of school, half of your co-workers are taking leave, the days are finally getting longer, and it is finally getting warm again. It’s the perfect time to escape the city and embark on new adventures. A flight to somewhere new is exactly the type of trip that the whole family will love and will remember for the rest of their lives! Flying is one of our favorite activities and have some suggestions for what trips you should do this spring break.

ORLANDO

Huntsville International Airport has several options for flying to Orlando including 2 airlines that fly nonstop, Breeze and Silver Airways. Orlando is home to world-class theme parks including Disney, Universal Studios, Epcot, and Lego Land, allowing you to immerse yourself in your favorite universe from Harry Potter to Jurassic Park to Star Wars. The magic of Orlando moves beyond theme parks. Orlando is home to a very diverse culinary scene. Orlando has International Drive (I-Drive) which is a haven for foodies where you can find a melting pot of cuisines from around the world. Mills 50 District is a must-do stop for diverse dining experiences. The neighborhoods have rich authentic ethnic food, and of course you can’t go wrong with the local seafood. Orlando is home to some beautiful natural parks. You can visit the nearby Blue Spring State Park and the Everglades where you can see the diverse wildlife such as the manatee. Flights from Huntsville to Orlando can get UNDER $100 roundtrip. If you’re struggling to fly to Orlando, consider the nonstop flights to Tampa for as low as $88 roundtrip!

NEW YORK

New York is one of the United States’ historical cities that you MUST see in your life. New York is high on our list for this Spring Break due to the flights in the low $200s we found via Jet Lag Hero. Grab a City Pass for $138 ($118 for kids) and see 5 attractions including the Empire State Building, American Museum of Natural History, and 3 of the following: Top of the Rock Observation Deck, Ferry Access to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises, Intrepid Museum, and Guggenheim Museum. New York City is home to some of the best dining in the world. Visit the famous New York delis, Chinatown, Little Italy, Harlem, grab some street food, and try out some of the trendy eateries. Be sure to top the week or weekend off with a show from Broadway and your week will be full of fun and adventures you will never forget.

CARIBBEAN

Flights to the Caribbean have been on sale recently in the low $300s roundtrip so if you’re looking for an island in the sun, here’s our suggestions. Roatan is a small hidden gem off the coast of Honduras. Roatan is known for their amazing scuba diving, but they have some incredible beaches, wildlife, coffee, drinks, and food. The Virgin Islands have incredibly pristine beaches with the ability to hop from island to island. They have incredible national parks and protected areas as well as world-class snorkeling. St. Lucia has the world’s only drive-in volcano and is full lush rainforests, secluded beaches, and amazing, picturesque landscapes.

CENTRAL AMERICA

Central American flights have hit the lowest prices we’ve ever seen this past year including some flights breaking into the $200s roundtrip. Spring Break would be a great opportunity to find cheap flights down to adventure here during their dry season. Costa Rica is known for their “pure living” and is an adventure waiting to happen. A Costa Rican adventure includes volcanoes, hot springs, zip-lining, beaches, and wildlife– sloths anyone? Guatemala, similar to Costa Rica, is a hot spot for nature-loving activities. They have some of the best coffee in the world and you can visit or take tours of the small villages to see how the Maya made chocolate and learn about their traditional weaving practices.

Finally, everyone loves a hospitable and relaxing vacation on a beautiful Mexican beach. Finding the right destination is not always easy, but we love flying and love flying HSV. With incredible options for Spring Break, you will make memories that will last a lifetime.
