Shooting Incident in North Huntsville Shakes Community

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – A weekend shooting left three people injured and rattled neighbors in north Huntsville. Witnesses described a chaotic scene that unfolded on Griffith Drive, where gunfire erupted and chaos ensued.

Details of the Incident

Residents report that **around 30 shots were fired** during the incident, which caught many by surprise. One neighbor, Carmen Moore, recounted the frightening experience. She was out shopping when the shooting began, narrowly avoiding a life-threatening situation. Had she been home, she feared she could have been struck by stray bullets.

A Close Call

Moore received an alarming phone call from her mother, who warned her about the violence erupting just outside her home. “When I got home, the police were everywhere. There were shell casings in my driveway and a bullet hole in my husband’s car,” she explained.

Upon her return, she discovered a bullet had traversed several objects, including a pillow and her patio furniture, before ending up inside her living room. “I just haven’t sat on the front porch since because it doesn’t feel right. I don’t feel safe, and I’ve never not felt safe at home,” she shared.

Community Reaction

The shooting has sparked fear and confusion among residents. Moore expressed her disbelief over the violence, asking, “**Goodness gracious, let us just live. Get along, fight to get along.**” She’s puzzled by the motive behind the shooting, emphasizing that such aggression is unwarranted.
