Huntsville Police Urge Public Assistance in Ongoing Investigations of Shootings and Burglaries

Huntsville on Alert as Police Seek Multiple Suspects

Welcome to another day in Huntsville, Alabama, where life moves quickly, and so do the police as they work to keep our community safe. This week, law enforcement is reaching out for the public’s help in finding individuals connected to several serious cases, some of which date back a few months. So, let’s dive into what’s happening and how you can assist!

A Tragic Incident on the Tennessee River

First up, a tragic shooting from back in early August is still fresh in the minds of many Huntsville residents. Police have been actively searching for the man responsible for the death of Kirk Urban, who lost his life on August 4. Reports say that Kirk was hanging out on the banks of the Tennessee River, near Hobbs Island Road, when an argument broke out between him and another man. Unfortunately, this dispute escalated quickly, leading to the man pulling out a gun and firing at Urban.

After the shot was fired, witnesses reported that the shooter made a hasty exit in a light-colored extended cab truck, which detectives believe could possibly be a Dodge Ram. Adding to the concern, investigators mentioned that there was a woman and two children present in the vehicle during the incident. If you have any tips or may have seen something that could help bring justice for Kirk, you’re encouraged to reach out to the police.

Burglaries and Break-ins at Decatur-Morgan Hospital

Switching gears to another troubling situation, police are also investigating a string of car break-ins that occurred between August 5 and September 12 at the Decatur-Morgan Hospital. It seems that a suspect spent over a month observing the parking garage, looking for their chance to strike. The police are encouraging anyone who might have been in the area during this time to report any suspicious activity they noticed.

High Priority: Wanted Suspects

In addition to these cases, police have a list of individuals who are wanted for their alleged offenses. If you recognize any of these names, your help could be invaluable!

  • Brandon Grinstead is wanted for Theft by Deception after allegedly stealing a car and then selling it.
  • Belboa Baker also faces charges of Theft by Deception, accused of pilfering checks totaling over $1,700.00 and depositing them into his own bank account.
  • Curtis Jefferson has been charged with domestic violence following a domestic altercation.
  • Lamonte Tinney is accused of forging checks and is wanted for Possession of a Forged Instrument.
  • Katrina Burns stands accused of burglary after breaking into a local business.

If you have seen any of these individuals or have any pertinent information, please don’t hesitate to call 53-CRIME. The police also welcome tips via text or email, allowing you to report while keeping your identity confidential.

Community Matters

As a community, it’s important to stay vigilant and support one another. Huntsville is known for its friendly atmosphere and communal ties, and together we can help foster a safer environment for everyone. Keep your eyes peeled, and don’t be afraid to reach out if something seems off. Your awareness could make all the difference.

Remember, Huntsville, while these situations may be concerning, it’s essential to stay informed and involved. The police are working diligently to resolve these cases, but community support is crucial. Let’s work together to keep our city safe!
