Huntsville: Murder victim’s dog found during storms

A search is underway in North Huntsville to find a murder victim’s missing dog.

As emergency crews were cleaning the debris from Wednesday night’s storms, one dog recovery group said they found a murder victim’s lost dog.

Lost Dog Discovery

On April 30, Ernie Bragg was one of the two people shot and killed at a home on Mt. Charron Road. During the shooting, his dog Princess Baby Girl ran away. A group called Lost Paws heard about the missing dog and started looking. They say on Thursday morning, in the middle of severe weather, Princess Baby Girl was caught in a live trap.

Reunion with Family

Right now, the dog is with members of the group but will go home to the victim’s family soon. The man accused of shooting Bragg, Maurice D’Antonio Chatman, is charged with three counts of capital murder. He was taken to the Madison County Jail where he remains.

Community Support

The community has rallied behind the efforts to find Princess Baby Girl, offering support and assistance in the search. The dog’s safe recovery has brought some solace to the grieving family of the murder victim.
