Huntsville Welcomes Second Mozza Pizza Location with New Greek Cuisine Addition

Huntsville Gears Up for Second Mozza Pizza Location

Hey there, Huntsville! Gather around because we’ve got some exciting news coming your way. If you’re a fan of mouthwatering pizza, you’ll be thrilled to learn that Mozza Pizza is expanding with a second location in South Huntsville! Opened just last year at 520 Jordan Lane N.W., this pizza spot has already made a name for itself as one of the city’s go-to pizzerias, and now they’re ready to take the pie game even further.

A Perfect Fit for the Community

Located at 8404 Logan Drive, the new Mozza Pizza spot is set in a quaint strip mall that used to house a Chinese restaurant. The choice of this location is strategic; it’s right next to a Kroger supermarket, ensuring plenty of foot traffic to keep the slices coming. As the co-owner, Thomas Quijada, explained, “We were getting a lot of customers asking us to please open a location in south Huntsville. They wanted something closer to their homes.” Considering the overwhelming demand, going for it just made sense!

Quijada and his team are already making big plans to throw open the doors of the new pizzeria in the upcoming November. He mentioned that they were attracted to the visibility of the Logan Drive site, which boasts fantastic access and proximity to the local community. “It’s very close to everything in south Huntsville,” he added, highlighting the convenience of the location for both new and loyal customers alike.

More Than Just Pizza

Now, if you thought Mozza Pizza is simply about serving delicious slices, think again! The new location will also feature a unique addition: an embedded concept called Rella Gyro. Quijada’s uncle, Eladia Monroy, will take charge of this exciting new venture, bringing a taste of Greece to the table alongside the classic New York-style pizza.

Expect to enjoy gyros, stuffed flounder, and even traditional Greek dishes like pastitsio—pretty much a feast of flavors! “We wanted to offer more options for Greek food in Huntsville,” Quijada explained, emphasizing their goal to provide a family-owned, non-chain experience for food lovers.

Recognizing the Local Scene

South Huntsville has its own charm when it comes to dining, although it doesn’t always get the buzz of Downtown. Yet, it’s home to local favorites like the Salt + Light food truck and Bubby’s retro diner, making it a cozy place for foodies. Mozza Pizza aims to add to this rising culinary scene, hoping to transform South Huntsville into a greater gastronomic hotspot.

A Slice of Affordability

What’s even better? Mozza Pizza prides itself on its fair pricing. In a time of skyrocketing dining costs, they strive to keep their pizza affordable. “Pizza isn’t supposed to be a fancy thing,” Quijada shared. “It’s supposed to be something for everyone, to make everyone happy.” With that philosophy at heart, Mozza Pizza is aiming for high value without breaking the bank.

From New York Roots to Alabama Ingredients

For those who might not know, Quijada and his cousins made the leap from New York to Alabama quite a few years ago. When they took over an Athens eatery, they meticulously tweaked the dough recipe to capture the authentic New York pizza vibe. The magic lies not only in the ingredients but also in getting the water just right—a surprising challenge given the unique properties of New York water.

Now, as they continue this journey in Huntsville, they’ve honed their craft, creating delicious pizzas with Alabama’s own twist. You can find everything from calzones to spaghetti alongside those lovely pizza slices!

Looking Forward

As Mozza Pizza prepares for its grand opening in South Huntsville, the team feels a mix of gratitude and excitement. Quijada humbly thanked the community for their support and feedback as they strive to make each visit memorable. With a guest capacity of around 100 and a dozen friendly staff on board, residents can expect their new favorite pizza destination to be bustling in no time!

So, if you’re a pizza lover in South Huntsville, keep your eyes peeled for Mozza Pizza’s grand opening this November. You won’t want to miss out on those delicious slices, along with all the new Greek treat options they’ll be cooking up!
