Huntsville Police Step Up Search for Missing Realtor Ronald Dumas Jr.

In a heartbreaking twist to a local mystery, Huntsville Police have upgraded the case of missing realtor Ronald Leslie Dumas Jr. to an active abduction investigation after uncovering critical new evidence. Family and friends of Dumas, who has been missing since December 15, 2024, are intensifying their calls for help as authorities ramp up their efforts.

What’s the Latest?

Dumas, 37 years old, was last spotted on surveillance footage entering a liquor store shortly before 10:30 PM on that fateful night. He was seen leaving the store with two women, appearing unharmed at the time. However, investigations have taken a darker turn as evidence suggests that he may have been abducted.

Since the case shifted, investigators have identified the two women who were last seen with Dumas and traced them to their apartment, confirming their connection to the case. It has since come to light that multiple individuals are involved in Dumas’ disappearance, and arrest warrants have been issued for five suspects as of January 2025. The U.S. Marshal’s Task Force is stepping in to assist local authorities in locating and apprehending these individuals.

A Search for Clues

The search for Dumas has grown more extensive with a credible lead pointing to a specific 450-acre area south of Memphis, Tennessee, extending into northern Mississippi. A coordinated search effort took place on February 6, 2025, combining the talents of 20 investigators from various local and regional law enforcement agencies, as well as Southeastern Search Dogs.

Notably, Dumas’ abandoned vehicle was found the day after his disappearance near mile marker 133 on I-40 in Camden, Tennessee. Cell phone location history indicates the phone was traveling west on I-40 on December 16 and was detected moving south from Memphis on December 21.

Community and Family Response

To help spur leads in the case, Dumas’ family is offering a $10,000 reward for any information that could lead to discovering his whereabouts. However, this reward is only good for three weeks, adding a sense of urgency to their plea.
