This past Friday, the city of Guntersville was buzzing with excitement as high school football teams took the field for a series of playoff games. It was a great night at the Guntersville High School stadium, where the Wildcats faced off against the Pleasant Grove team. With a mixture of tense energy and hopeful anticipation among fans, players warmed up, ready to showcase their skills in front of the home crowd.
The atmosphere was electric, filled with cheers from enthusiastic fans, many of whom adorned the team’s colors. Players like Street Smith, Guntersville’s talented quarterback, were more than ready to impress. Smith completed an impressive 10 out of 12 passes for a total of 143 yards and a touchdown during the Wildcats’ overwhelming 64-0 win against Sardis last week. To add to his impressive performance, Smith also rushed for 50 yards and scored a touchdown on the ground.
The Wildcats had a fantastic night, and Smith’s dual-threat abilities played a crucial role in building their momentum as they headed into the playoffs. Guntersville fans couldn’t stop talking about his performance as well as how the team came together on both offense and defense.
As fans were eager to champion their favorite player, they had the chance to partake in the voting process. Coaches submit statistics and nominations each Saturday, making every week a thrilling anticipation of who will stand out. Fans can submit their votes until Wednesday evening, and the winner gets revealed on Thursday on a dedicated platform.
To cast your vote, it’s important to note that emails won’t count. Instead, make sure to access the polling link and click that “finish survey” button once you have completed your selections.
