The markets concluded a short trading week on a high note last Thursday, with shares in the healthcare industry, particularly those of Encompass Health and Community Health Systems, standing out in the Huntsville and Alabama Stock Report.
Encompass Health Hits 52-week High
Topping gains chart was Encompass Health, which saw its stock value soar by 6.5%, equivalent to a $5.02 increase, to close at a 52-week high of $82.58. Encompass Health, a nationally recognized network of rehabilitation hospitals, is headquartered in Birmingham and operates seven hospitals across Alabama, with locations in Huntsville, Gadsden, Birmingham, Pelham, Montgomery, Phenix City, and Dothan.
Community Health Systems Also Makes Gains
Meanwhile, Community Health Systems gained a modest 10 cents or 2.9% to close at $3.50 per share.
