Habitat for Humanity of the River Valley, an affiliate serving Madison, Jackson, and Limestone Counties, is about to embark on a momentous breakthrough in its rich history. The organization is hosting a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate starting construction on its first home in Limestone County, Alabama.
Celebrating a New Milestone
This event not only signifies the growth and expansion of the organization but also the realization of dreams for many families in Limestone County who aspire for affordable homeownership. Churches, elected officials, interested businesses, and potential volunteers have all been invited to the ceremony to share in this momentous occasion.
The home is located at 532 Browns Ferry St, Athens, Alabama, 35611. The milestone event is set to take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 8:30 – 9:00 A.M.
Progressing Towards Empowering Communities
Habitat for Humanity of The River Valley was originally established in 1987 and has since partnered with over 330 families to help realize their dreams of affordable homeownership. In 2022, the affiliate announced they would be expanding their services to include Limestone County. Their mission, to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope, remains strong and continually inspires their work.
Among those expected to attend the ceremony is volunteer Garth Lovvorn and future homeowner, Elizabeth, who will reside in the newly constructed habitat home.
