Hey there, folks! It’s that time of year again when the days start getting a bit cooler, and we all begin to feel the cozy vibes of fall in the air. What better way to welcome the season than by taking part in some fun events happening right here in our beloved Huntsville? Whether you’re looking to enjoy the great outdoors, indulge in delicious food, or immerse yourself in the literary world, there’s something for everyone this weekend!

Snail on the Wall Bookstore Grand Opening

First up, we’re thrilled to announce the grand opening of the Snail on the Wall Bookstore this Friday and Saturday! If you’re a book lover (and who isn’t?), you’ll definitely want to stop by. The festivities kick off Friday at 10 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m. on Saturday at their location on 816 Wellman Ave. NE. This two-day event is packed with excitement, featuring a book signing with author Anne Byrn, a coffee pop-up to keep you buzzing, and plenty of giveaways that will make your literary heart flutter!

Don’t miss out on the chance to win some incredible prizes, including a year of audiobooks or a generous $250 gift certificate! Mark your calendars and keep an eye on their Facebook event page for the full schedule of activities. Trust us—you won’t want to miss this!

Savor the Flavor at the Soulful Food Truck Festival

Looking for a bite to eat? Head over to the Soulful Food Truck Festival at Joe Davis Stadium on Saturday! Doors open for VIPs at 11 a.m., and general admission kicks off at noon, lasting all the way until 6 p.m. Prepare your taste buds for a culinary adventure with 20 food trucks and 10 food vendors ready to serve up some amazing dishes.

If live music is your jam, you’re in luck! There will be performances from DJ Codythegrand, Devin Crutcher, and Courtney Little throughout the day to keep the energy high. Tickets are $25 for VIP entry (which lets you get in early) and $15 for general admission. Plus, kids aged 5 and under can enter for free, while those aged 6-12 get a discounted ticket for just $5!

Embrace the Arts at the Monte Sano Art Festival

And if you’re in the mood for a bit of culture, don’t forget about the beloved Monte Sano Art Festival on Sunday! This event has been a treasured tradition in North Alabama for over 20 years. Running from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Monte Sano State Park, the festival showcases a diverse array of local and regional artists sharing their one-of-a-kind creations.

While admittance to the festival is free, remember that there’s a parking fee of $10 per car or $5 if you’re walking in. What a beautiful way to spend your Sunday—surrounded by art and nature!

So, whether you’re stocking up on books, tucking into tasty treats, or admiring beautiful art, there’s no shortage of ways to celebrate the arrival of fall this weekend in Huntsville. Take some time to enjoy the fresh air, the community spirit, and all the wonderful offerings that our city has to share. And hey, if you spot me around town, don’t hesitate to say hi!
