Stabbing Incident in Huntsville Leaves One Injured, Suspect Charged

Huntsville, Ala. – In the early hours of Thursday morning, residents of Huntsville were shaken by a disturbing incident that unfolded on Old Monrovia Road. A woman is now facing serious charges after a domestic dispute escalated into a stabbing, leaving a man with significant injuries.

Police Respond to Domestic Violence Call

According to the Huntsville Police Department, officers received a call around 2:30 a.m., which reported a domestic situation in progress. Responding quickly to the urgent situation, the officers arrived at the 1300 block of Old Monrovia Road to investigate what had transpired.

Scene of the Incident

Upon their arrival, they found a man and woman inside an apartment. It didn’t take long for them to assess the situation. The man was discovered with an injury to his abdomen, which authorities believe was caused by a knife. This alarming situation resulted in immediate medical attention, and the man was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Victim’s Condition and Medical Response

The good news is that his injuries are not life-threatening, and he is expected to survive. However, it’s a solemn reminder of how domestic situations can spiral out of control in a matter of moments.

Identifying the Suspect

After the officers conducted interviews and examined the evidence at the scene, they identified the suspect as Veronica Dolores Ford, a 31-year-old resident of Huntsville. Following this discovery, the police took her into custody.

Legal Consequences Unfold

Ford has been charged with Domestic Violence-2nd-Aggravated Assault-Family-Knife. This classification indicates the seriousness of her actions, especially in regard to the domestic nature of the incident. Once processed, she was booked into the Madison County Jail, where her bond is set at $2,500.
