Decatur Bicyclist Dies After Hit-and-Run Incident

A tragic hit-and-run incident in Decatur, Alabama, has claimed the life of a bicyclist. Jackie R. Borden, a 71-year-old man, passed away on Saturday at Huntsville Hospital due to injuries sustained in the accident.

The incident occurred on Thursday at approximately 9:56 a.m. in the 3100 block of Modaus Road S.W. According to Decatur police, it appeared that a vehicle traveling north on Modaus Road Southwest struck Borden while he was riding his bicycle.

Emergency Response

Decatur Fire, Decatur Morgan EMS, and the police were swiftly dispatched to the scene to provide assistance. Borden was immediately transported to Huntsville Hospital for medical treatment, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
