Cozy Care Holiday Drive Encourages Coat Donations in Huntsville Community

Cozy Care Holiday Drive: Huntsville Invites Coat Donations

Hey there, Huntsville! As the colder months quickly approach, there’s an exciting opportunity for everyone in our vibrant community to lend a helping hand. Are you feeling the chill and looking to make a difference? Well, if you have any unused coats, hats, or gloves lying around, now’s the perfect time to donate them through the Cozy Care Holiday Drive! Teaming up with Christmas Charities Year Round, Huntsville Parks & Recreation is making this initiative a warm-hearted success.

What’s Going On?

Starting now and running through December 9, community members can drop off their clean and wearable winter gear at any of Huntsville’s recreation centers during regular hours. This initiative is crucial for those who might not be as fortunate—especially our little ones who need extra warmth during chilly days.

Where Can You Donate?

Wondering where to take those coats? Don’t worry! All sizes are accepted, so whether you have a kid’s jacket that your child has outgrown or a bulky coat you’ve simply stopped wearing, it will all be put to good use. You’ll find donation boxes conveniently located inside each recreation center—easy peasy!

However, let’s keep our centers nice and tidy! The Parks & Recreation team kindly reminds all residents to avoid leaving items at the door or in other areas around the centers. We want to make sure every item is accounted for and finds its way to those in need.

A Word from Parks & Recreation

Director James Gossett expresses his gratitude for this initiative. “While many of Huntsville’s residents are blessed to have a warm coat on chilly days, many people, especially children, do not,” he said. It’s heartening to hear that our community can come together to combat this issue.

James further emphasized, “We appreciate the partnership with Christmas Charities Year Round, and we hope our citizens really deliver. It’s amazing the impact a small gesture like a donated coat can have on someone’s life.” It’s these simple acts of kindness and generosity that can make a big difference in our community.

Why Participate?

As winter rolls in, let’s remember that not everyone has the luxury of staying warm. Donating a coat contributes not just to a person’s comfort but also to their well-being. The simple act of giving can help brighten someone’s day and provide warmth when they need it most. Every donated item counts, and together, we can wrap our community in love and warmth.

So gather up those coats, hats, and gloves that you no longer use and spread some holiday cheer! Your old gear can become someone else’s lifeline against the winter chill.
