‘Sounds of Summer’ Concerts Return to Madison’s Home Place Park Tonight

Madison’s popular summer tradition is back

Residents of Madison County are in for a musical feast this summer as the “Sounds of Summer” concert series returns to Home Place Park tonight. The much-anticipated summer concert series is a vibrant part of Madison’s cultural life, presented every year by the Madison Arts Alliance in partnership with Madison Visionary Partners.

A treat for music lovers

Featuring rhythm-and-blues standards, Motown tunes, pop classics, and genres encompassing everything from soulful ballads to dance party music, the “Sounds of Summer” concerts offer something for every music lover. Opening the series tonight is the crowd favorite, The Zooks.

Having first formed in 2000, The Zooks are renowned for their varied musical repertoire spanning decades of popular music. From their humble beginnings on Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands, the band has catapulted to popularity with their motto being all about ‘having fun’ and bringing smiles to everyone’s face.

Upcoming concert lineup

Following The Zooks, Madison’s summer concert series will welcome several other stunning acts. On June 13, Groove will get the audience shaking to their funk, rhythm and blues, soul, pop, and dance party renditions.

June 27 will see Luna Koi stirring up the park with their family-friendly, free music. Calypso Vision will grace the venue on July 11, bringing their relaxed beachfront spirit and hefty dose of Buffett-style classics. On July 25, despite being a duo, Second Hand Smoke promises to deliver a performance that can compete with larger groups, keeping the audience moving to the beat.

Food and fellowship

While audiences enjoy the entertainment, a range of food trucks will be offering a variety of tasty foods and snacks for purchase. There are also several sit-down meal options in nearby downtown eateries for concert-goers looking for a more substantial dining experience.

Fostering Art and Culture in Madison County

The “Sounds of Summer” concert series is just one example of the vibrant arts and culture scene facilitated by the Madison Arts Alliance. By organizing events like these and through its many sponsorships and partnerships, the alliance makes it a priority to continually contribute to the quality and growth of cultural experiences in North Alabama.
