In the quaint town of East Limestone, Alabama, residents are on high alert following a string of vehicle burglaries that took place earlier this week. The incidents unfolded late on November 11, stretching into the early hours of the next morning, leaving many folks feeling uneasy about their security.
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) reported that multiple unlocked cars were targeted by the burglars, who made off with an assortment of items such as cash, firearms, credit cards, and even crucial identity documents. It’s distressing to think that our own driveways might not be as safe as we believe!
Through their investigations, deputies managed to identify two of the culprits involved. Arrest warrants have been issued for Deon’Jaun Jamien Amura Hill, a 24-year-old from Huntsville, and Natalie Rebekah Jett, a 21-year-old from Hazel Green. The authorities are keen on getting these suspects off the streets and have asked anyone with information on their whereabouts to step forward.
In an effort to protect the community, LCSO is reminding residents to stay vigilant. Investigators noted that these burglaries often occur between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., a window during which offenders move silently through neighborhoods, testing car doors to see if they’re unlocked. If they find one, they seize the opportunity to rifle through the car for anything valuable.
To help keep your valuables safe and deter potential thieves, the sheriff’s office emphasizes the importance of taking some proactive steps:
The incidents within East Limestone have not only raised concerns but have also brought the community together. Neighbors are forming watch groups and sharing safety tips to help look out for each other. It’s heartwarming to see residents taking matters into their own hands, ensuring their neighborhood remains a safe haven.
The sheriff’s office encourages anyone with leads to reach out. You can contact Investigator Martin Evans or Captain Caleb Durden at (256)-232-0111. Every little bit of information could be essential in solving these cases!
As the weekend approaches, let’s all remember to be mindful of our vehicles and personal belongings. We’re all part of the East Limestone family, and together we can help deter crime and ensure that our beloved community remains a great place to live. Stay safe, and let’s keep an eye out for one another!
