HUNTSVILLE – The holiday spirit is already in the air as plans are set for the 10th Annual Huntsville Christmas Parade. Scheduled for Tuesday, December 3, the parade promises to bring joy and excitement to the community.

Theme Revealed: “Christmas in Toyland!”

The parade’s theme, chosen through a thrilling People’s Choice Poll, will be “Christmas in Toyland!” Mayor Tommy Battle expressed enthusiasm about this year’s theme, stating, “Everyone remembers a favorite childhood toy, and this year’s Christmas Parade will celebrate the magic of toys, youthful imagination, and holiday traditions.”

Registration and Participation Details

Registration for participants is now open and will remain until October 11. Those interested can visit the official website for all registration details. Participants will be selected through a review process by a panel. It’s important to register early due to limited spots.

Judging Criteria for Floats

Floats will be evaluated by a panel consisting of three community judges based on Creativity, Execution, and Theme Interpretation. WRSA Program Director Abby Kay stated, “This year’s theme really opens the doors wide for all kinds of exciting float ideas.”

Parade Route and Lineup

The parade will kick off at 6:00 p.m. from Clinton Avenue, near the U.S. Post Office, and will procession east through downtown Huntsville, wrapping up at AM Booth’s Lumberyard. Expect to see over 80 quality floats, marching bands, and animals participating in this festive event!

Community Support and Local Partnerships

Local organizations, including Bank Independent, show their commitment to community spirit. Nick Rockhill from the bank highlighted their dedication to positive community engagement and support for the Huntsville Christmas Parade.

Pre-Parade Party and VIP Viewing Area

A Pre-Parade Party will be hosted, featuring free food, holiday activities, and special photos with Santa! Access to this exciting area requires participants to donate a tangible item to the chosen non-profit, Grandparents as Parents (GAP), emphasizing community generosity.

A Celebration of Family and Togetherness

Keith Lowhorne, President of GAP, expressed gratitude for being included in the parade. “This event brings our community together in celebration, and we are proud to represent the countless grandparents who have stepped into the role of parents.”
