The Singing River Trail (SRT), a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening regional relationships and creating new opportunities for residents of North Alabama, announced on June 30, 2024, the appointment of Anna Clem as the Interim Executive Director. This decision follows the formal resignation of the previous Executive Director, John Kvach, on June 25, 2024.
Anna Clem has been associated with Singing River Trail since 2022, holding the position of Associate Director. She brings to the table a strong administrative and operational background, well-acquainted with the core missions of the organization. As she steps into this significant role, Clem expresses her gratitude and dedication to continue the work of the organization during this transition phase.
“I am committed to working alongside our board and staff to continue our mission and vision of regional collaboration, creating a sense of belonging and opportunity for people throughout North Alabama,” expressed Clem.
Anna Clem’s extensive experience in non-profit work aligns well with her dedication to community service, civic engagement, and regional development – key pillars of the Singing River Trail effort. This experience and commitment make her a valuable asset to the organization. Jared Mitchem, the Singing River Trail Board Chair, commented on her assignment, highlighting her strong understanding and existing partnerships with stakeholders.
“Anna has the full confidence of the SRT Board of Directors. Her deep understanding of our organization, existing relationships with partners and stakeholders, passion for excellence, and commitment to connecting North Alabama make her uniquely qualified to lead us forward,” Mitchem stated.
While Anna Clem serves as the Interim Executive Director, the Board of Directors will commence the formal search process for the next Executive Director of Singing River Trail in the next few weeks.
Established in 2018, the Singing River Trail is a 200-mile greenway system that strengthens regional bonds and creates health and wellness, educational, economic, tourism, and entrepreneurial opportunities for the communities in the Tennessee Valley region.
This development comes as one of several recent changes for the Singing River Trail, aimed at continuing its mission to benefit the residents, entrepreneurs, and communities of North Alabama’s eight counties. Chaired by Jared Mitchem, the SRT Board continues to work diligently in service of its goals and the communities it represents.
With Anna Clem in her interim role, the Singing River Trail looks forward to a period of steadfast growth and continuity in serving its community. As they search for their next Executive Director, the organization continues its commitment to fostering regional bonds, community growth, and creating opportunities for residents of North Alabama.
