This marked a challenging day for commuters, as the road remained closed from around 3:05 p.m. and navigational detours were put in place.

In this unfortunate crash, 25-year-old James E. Warren III from Florence was operating a 2002 GMC Sonoma when he collided with a 2005 GMC Yukon, driven by Nathan G. Small, aged 24, from Hazel Green.
