News Summary

Huntsville is gearing up for the opening of the Marriott Autograph Collection Trilogy hotel by late summer 2023. Located near the Von Braun Center, the eight-story hotel features over 200 rooms, multiple dining options, and a rooftop bar with stunning views. Despite a slight delay in construction, this $40 million investment aims to enhance the downtown area, making it a prime destination for visitors and locals. Coffee lovers can rejoice with the hotel housing one of Alabama’s largest Starbucks.

Exciting Times Ahead in Huntsville: Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel Set to Debut by Late Summer 2023!

Huntsville is buzzing with excitement! The Marriott Autograph Collection Trilogy hotel is just around the corner, set to open its doors by late summer 2023. Located right across from the Von Braun Center’s Propst Arena, this hotel is sure to become a hotspot for visitors and locals alike.

What’s the Scoop on the Location?

Nestled on the southwest corner of a newly reconstructed parking garage on Monroe Street, this hotel is positioned perfectly for those attending events at the nearby arena. Travelers won’t have to go far to enjoy top-notch amenities and services.

A Slight Delay But Worth the Wait

Initially expected to finish earlier, the project timeline has shifted. During a meeting on February 12, 2023, the Huntsville Downtown Redevelopment Authority decided to extend the completion deadline to August 31, 2023. The developers indicated that changes to the design played a role in the delay, and let’s not forget the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic had on construction schedules. Even with these bumps in the road, it’s all systems go for a stunning opening!

More Floors, More Rooms, and More Fun!

This hotel is turning out to be even bigger and better than first imagined. Originally designed to stand six floors tall with 187 rooms, it now boasts eight floors and over 200 rooms! The total project cost is estimated at a whopping $40 million. That’s quite an investment in our community!

Top-notch Amenities Await!

Guests can look forward to some fabulous features. Imagine enjoying a delicious cocktail at a rooftop bar that offers breathtaking views of Big Spring Park! Not to mention, there will be two full-service restaurants to satisfy every craving and plenty of conference and banquet space for events. Planning a work event or gathering? They’ve got you covered!

Starbucks – The Crown Jewel!

And let’s not forget about coffee lovers! The hotel will house a Starbucks which happens to be one of the largest in all of Alabama. This popular spot is expected to receive its certificate of occupancy soon, meaning caffeine aficionados will soon have a new place to grab their favorite brews.

Meet the Developers

Ascent Hospitality, hailing from Buford, Georgia, is the driving force behind this grand project. Back in 2020, the city sold 0.734 acres of land to the developers for $1.6 million, which was previously part of the old parking garage. Talk about progress!

Part of a Bigger Picture

The Marriott Autograph is just one piece of a larger puzzle as Huntsville experiences a hotel boom! Several other hotels have already opened downtown, including the AC Hotel by Marriott along Williams Street, Jefferson 106 on Jefferson Street, and a Hampton Inn located at Monroe Street and Clinton Avenue. Exciting developments continue to come to life, with plans for more hotels at the former Coca-Cola bottling plant site as part of the $325 million Front Row project and a Moxy hotel in CityCentre’s third phase.

Why This Matters

City officials are on a mission to enhance downtown Huntsville’s hotel room inventory. More options mean bigger conferences and events can now be accommodated at the Von Braun Center. With the new Marriott Autograph and other developments, the city is working hard to create a thriving and vibrant downtown atmosphere. Plus, with visitor parking in the renovated garage available for both the Autograph hotel and the nearby Hampton Inn, there’s simply no reason to not check it all out.

Keep an Eye on Huntsville!

All of this means good things for Huntsville as it continues to grow! As summer rolls around, keep your eyes peeled for the opening of this gorgeous hotel, because it’s shaping up to be a must-visit destination in the heart of the city!
