Ardmore’s 7th Annual Bullets, Bourbon & Barbecue Event Celebrates Community Support for Veterans

Ardmore, Tennessee Hosts Exciting 7th Annual Bullets, Bourbon & Barbecue Event

This past Friday, the picturesque King B Farm in Ardmore, Tennessee, came alive with excitement as more than 250 enthusiastic attendees gathered for the Huntsville SOF Network’s 7th Annual Bullet, Bourbon & Barbecue. The event is more than just a thrilling day of shooting and savoring delicious food; it’s a heartfelt initiative aimed at supporting our veterans and their families.

All for a Great Cause

Under the sunny skies of Ardmore, participants were not just there for the fun (though there was plenty of that). The proceeds from this annual gathering directly benefit Still Serving Veterans, an organization that provides no-cost services to veterans. As emphasized by PeggyLee Wright of the Huntsville SOF Network, “This event is so important to our community. We support Still Serving Veterans and give back to a community that has continually given to our nation. Our veterans are special, and when they’re done with their mission, we need to pick up the ball and help them transition into civilian life.”

Action-Packed Activities

The day kicked off with participants having the opportunity to shoot premium firearms including handguns, shotguns, and rifles. Not to worry if you’re new to firearms; all ammunition and arms were supplied. With every shot fired, the camaraderie among participants grew, as they laughed and shared stories during their shooting experiences.

After qualifying their aim, everyone was treated to a mouthwatering BBQ lunch, which set the stage for more exciting activities to come. The excitement didn’t stop at lunch, as the day rolled into more shooting opportunities, a special bourbon tasting, and some well-deserved relaxation time with cigars. And if that wasn’t enough, the afternoon featured a spirited auction where guests had a chance to bid on some amazing items, all for supporting a fantastic cause.

Honoring Our Heroes

As the sun began to dip below the horizon, guests settled in for a delightful dinner featuring a moving speech by the decorated guest speaker, Mark Nutsch. His words resonated deeply with those in attendance, emphasizing the importance of community support for our veterans and the unique challenges they face when transitioning to civilian life.

What is truly heartwarming about this event is that all of the vendors generously donated their time, talents, and resources to ensure that 100% of the proceeds could go directly to Still Serving Veterans. “We do this because we know our community in Huntsville wants to continue to help this amazing audience of veterans, and that is why we’re here,” Wright shared passionately.

A Day to Remember

The excitement of the day, coupled with the sense of purpose and community spirit, made the 7th Annual Bullet, Bourbon & Barbecue a remarkable success. It showcased how much our community treasures our veterans and is willing to come together to support those who have served our nation.

As the evening wrapped up, attendees left with smiles, cherished memories, and the warm feeling that comes from giving back. The Huntsville SOF Network and all its members should be immensely proud of another successful event in the books. Here’s to looking forward to next year’s festivities and continuing the mission of honoring and helping our veterans!
